i feel an absence of tradition in my life in a way that leaves me sort of untethered. there's nothing to mark the passing of time. i think that's why i'm fascinated with religion. religion is like one of those complex wristwatches that measures nine or ten different environmental dimensions simlutaneously. what i mean to say is that religion helps us to deal with time.
